Posts vs Pages: What's the Difference

Posts are your regular blog content — they have dates, appear in your blog feed, can be assigned to categories, and are what your readers subscribe to. Pages are for static, timeless content like your About page, Contact page, or Privacy Policy. They don't appear in your blog feed and aren't dated. Most of your content will be posts; you'll typically create pages once and rarely update them.

Creating a New Post

Go to Posts → Add New. Enter your title at the top. Start typing your content — each paragraph becomes a 'block'. Press Enter to create a new paragraph block. Use the '+' button or type '/' to add different block types: Heading for section titles, Image for photos, List for bullet points, Quote for callouts. The Block Editor is intuitive — spend 20 minutes experimenting and you'll be comfortable with it.

Publishing and Scheduling

When your post is ready, click 'Publish' in the top right. Before publishing, set your category, tags, featured image, and excerpt in the right sidebar. You can also schedule posts for future dates — click the 'Immediately' link next to 'Publish' and set your preferred date and time. Scheduled posts publish automatically, which is perfect for maintaining a consistent posting schedule even when you're busy.
