Setting Up Search Console
Go to search.google.com/search-console and click 'Start now'. Add your property using the 'URL prefix' method and enter your full blog URL (https://www.yourblog.com). Verify ownership — the easiest method is the HTML tag option, which your SEO plugin (Rank Math or Yoast) has a dedicated field for. Paste the verification code, save, and click Verify in Search Console.
Submitting Your Sitemap
In Search Console, go to Sitemaps in the left menu. Enter your sitemap URL (usually yourdomain.com/sitemap_index.xml for Rank Math or yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml for Yoast) and click Submit. This tells Google about every page on your blog and speeds up the indexing process. Check back after a few days to confirm Google has successfully processed your sitemap.
Monitoring Your Performance
The Performance report shows which keywords bring visitors, how many clicks and impressions you get, your average position, and click-through rates. The Coverage report shows which pages are indexed and flags any errors. Check Search Console weekly — it's your direct line of communication with Google about how your blog is performing in search results.
