When You're Ready for Sponsorships
Most brands look for blogs with at least 10,000 monthly page views, an engaged audience (comments, email subscribers), and consistent, quality content. You don't need massive traffic — brands in smaller niches are often eager to work with focused bloggers who have a loyal, targeted readership. A blog about vintage watches with 5,000 monthly readers is more valuable to a watch brand than a general lifestyle blog with 50,000.
Finding and Pitching Brands
Start by making a list of products and services you already use and love in your niche. Visit their websites and look for 'Partners', 'Press', or 'Collaborate' pages. Join influencer networks like Aspire, Grin, or Creator.co to be discovered by brands. When pitching, lead with what you can offer them (your audience, engagement stats, content quality) rather than what you want (money). Include a media kit with your traffic stats, audience demographics, and past collaboration examples.
Pricing and Negotiation
There's no universal pricing formula, but a common starting point is £100 per 10,000 monthly page views for a sponsored post. Factor in the time to create the content, your audience's value to the brand, and exclusivity requirements. Always negotiate — the first offer is rarely the best. Require creative control and clearly label all sponsored content with appropriate disclosures. Never compromise your editorial integrity for any amount of money.
